Some of the best beaches in the region are within easy reach by car. Wembury is great for surfing and rock pooling. Bantham and Bigbury-on-Sea have a bit of everything. Mothecombe tends to be quieter and Blackpool Sands is surrounded by lush evergreens and pines. Burgh Island is something special and worth visiting.
We have exclusive packages for Alpacas experiences followed by a cream tea with our friends from Lakemoor Alpacas.
Horse riding stables, rare breeds farms, animal sanctuaries, butterfly parks are all close by. The cutest couple in Devon live on the farm. Guests are welcome to feed our two miniature Mediterranean donkeys.

A bite to eat
Meals can be prepared by Dartmoor Larder. We also like to support a have a plant based pop up down the road and the UK’s largest veg box supplier has a kitchen a few miles away. Our local pub and golf club can satisfy any appetite.
Devonshire Cream Tea? A local farm is the biggest producer of clotted cream in Devon and we can get some in for you.
We’re surrounded by National Trust properties. The famous Buckfast Abbey is also close by, as is the village of Dartington, made famous by its glass works.
Take a step back in time on a steam train ride through the Devon countryside or boat ride along the River Dart.
If you’re missing the city, then take a trip to Exeter. It’s a cathedral city, dating back to roman times. There’s lots of stuff to see and plenty for shop-a-holics. Another option is to head to Plymouth. Aye, aye Captain, there is plenty of naval history to explore. If you like the theatre, then there’s usually a West End show at the Theatre Royal.
