The Easter holidays have started. It’s that time when parents wonder how they’re going to fill the days, control the chocolate intake and keep everyone happy during family gatherings.
In Devon, we’re so fortunate that kids don’t need to be bored during their stay with us. There is so much to do here.
Pennywell Farm is a family favourite and only 15 minutes away. Everyone can get close to new born and miniature farm animals.
Places in Plymouth such as the attractive Barbican Waterfront area and National Marine Aquarium put on special events during the Easter break.
Easter time is also a perfect time to enjoy seeing nature coming back to life after the winter. Nearby Lukesland Gardens has some impressive magnolia and rhododendron displays. It’s a perfect place to enjoy a picnic.
You’ll see lots of lambs at this time of year in the fields and moorland surrounding Blackadon Farm.
Easter is a time when we like to give returning guests something that shows our appreciation. This year, it’s cute knitted egg covers designed to look like chicks, hedgehogs and rabbits. Repeat guest will take a look underneath and find a chocolate egg.
We’re hoping Easter marks the start of the BBQ season. Our guest BBQ area is ready for use and we’ll be ready to pop a sausage or two on. For easier catering options, Dartmoor Larder are delivering meals to our guests this week and the Moorland Cafe at Wrangaton Golf Club is putting on their monthly roast dinner.
Easter is a great time for visiting us. Literally, it’s cracking.
