Our Place
We’ll make your stay special
So many things make us unique. Come and enjoy a place that's a tad special.
Being responsible
In 2023, we were thrilled to be recognised in the national Visit England Awards as one of the country's top three Ethical, Responsible and Sustainable businesses. We also hold Green Tourism Gold status in the and are a Tripadvisor Gold Green Leader. Being sustainable, or green, is a top priority for us and we'd love you to read about our approach in our sustainability statements.
What others have to say
The Devon Tourism Awards and South West Tourism Awards have named us Self-Catering Accommodation of the Year 2021/22. They consider the amazing reviews our guests provide on Tripadvisor, Google Reviews and Freetobook. 100% of our guests recommend us.
Let us do the cooking
If you don’t fancy cooking during your stay, we have an arrangement with Dartmoor Larder, a local caterer to have meals ready for your arrival or delivered during your stay. They can also provide a chef to prepare meals for groups in The Great Barn. If you'd like to cook, major supermarkets will deliver supplies to your door.
Paw-fect holidays for dogs
Your dog deserves a paw-fect holiday and they're more than welcome to you join. Let us know in advance so we can arrange a bed, towel, treats and a walking map. They'll love the local walks and beaches they they can use all year-round. There's a load of info just for them in the Good Stay Guide we send when you book.
The best family holidays
We're on Dartmoor which is the a 368 square mile adventure playground. Stunning South Devon beaches are a few miles away. There are attractions close by to keep everyone entertained. Mrs O in the Shed, an incredibly talented 'proper Devon' lady provides colouring and nature spotting sheets as well as pop up nature based craft sessions in school holidays.
The best group gatherings
Birthdays parties, retirement celebrations, wedding groups, reunions and other shindigs can all be hosted on site. There’s plenty of space in The Great Barn for your guests to mingle. The courtyard and guest lawn are lovely places to host a gathering with locally sourced food. If you'd like exclusive use of the whole farm, we can take up to 47 (and a couple of extras on pre-booked sofa beds) across 21 bedrooms.
A real (re)treat
Want a fresh alternative to a hotel for your work, academic or mindfulness retreat? We can help. Why not join one of the regular well-being courses, running and yoga weekends or plan your own? Our en-suite rooms will give your guests privacy. Communal areas in the cottages are perfect for collaboration. The grounds provide space to reflect, recharge or host team building activities.
Adult only breaks
Adults love to come and experience Dartmoor, South Devon and South Hams all year round. We're a place where you can recharge 365 days a year. There will be plenty of time to relax, explore and do things that trigger holiday memories from years gone by. The options are endless.
You'll love our mini donkeys
Guests are very welcome to help groom our rare breed miniature donkeys at select weekends and certain days during the school holidays. They enjoy their scratches and cuddles. You'll often see Tiny Tim and Freddie mowing the lawn and sometimes hear them hee-hawing when they want attention. They are the stars of the show!
Chills and thrills in The Den
We have a multipurpose indoor space that's used for yoga, breakouts and briefings before groups head onto the moor. It's a relaxing space featuring virtual windows of the surrounding area and fairy lights. In school holidays, we convert the space into a games room with table tennis, billiards, garden games, puzzles and a chill out zone.
Everything else you need
We send guests a Good Stay Guide which includes a map of the farm (there's a copy in every cottage too) and info about your place. The map highlights where to find the sculpture trail, walk in drying room and laundry facilities, BBQ area, woodland walk, fire ball, guest lawn and the best places for your instagram moments. The guide helps you plan ahead - we don't want you missing out on the best of Dartmoor, South Devon and nearby Cornwall.
