From Dubai to Dartmoor
Whilst enjoying the sun and sand in Dubai for the last ten years, we knew that a time would come to return to the UK and always wanted to return to the West Country.
Blackadon Farm became available in spring 2019. When we drove through the historic village of Moorhaven and saw beautiful views from the cottages, we knew this place was for us. We were only five minutes drive from the A38, yet both of us said we felt a million miles away from anywhere. All we could see from the farm was the vastness of Dartmoor and South Hams. The sun was beaming down into the guest courtyard and I could picture myself sitting there on a summer’s evening recharging my batteries. I could hear a stream in the distance and knew I’d be taking plenty of walks next to that. Bluebells were beaming brightly in the private woodland and bird song was plentiful.
Dubai was great for living the high life. We loved our time there. Moving onto Dartmoor and onto Blackadon Farm will give us the good life. We can’t wait to grow our own fruit and veg, look after animals of our own (more of that soon!) and give guests the best self-catering accommodation in Devon.
We’ve swapped the beauty of the desert for the beauty of the British countryside. We’re waking up every morning to the most inspiring views of Dartmoor and South Hams. Views stretch all the way to the Devon coast. The first person we met from the village described Blackadon Farm as a magical place and we agree.
It’s going to become a special place for us and we’re looking forward to sharing it guests, family and friends.
Today is the start of a new chapter and we hope you’ll join us on our journey.
