Undisturbed Adult Only Holidays

Sometimes you want to to relax without the kids or know you’re in a place where the only noises you hear come from nature.

We get that.

The one, two and three bedroom cottages at The Cottages at Blackadon Farm give you options that provide you with a quiet space to relax and a base to explore the area.

Meet our adult guest ambassadors

Meet Karen and Andrew. Since we arrived and renovated The Cottages at Blackadon Farm, Karen and Andrew have stayed with us four times in two years, trying out three of our properties.

In their own words, here’s why Karen and Andrew choose to stay with us.

From the moment we arrive and walk into the courtyard, we feel a sense of calm. It’s a magical place where we’re able to relax as soon as the holiday starts. It’s also great knowing that you’re in the middle of nowhere, although only two miles from the A38. Blackadon Farm has an unbeatable location because you often have to contend with miles of country roads to get to your accommodation in Devon and Cornwall.

We’ve visited in winter, spring and summer. Each season brings its own charm. In the warmer months, adults can enjoy relaxing in the sunny courtyard with a book and a glass of gin on the lawn overlooking the South Hams and down to the coast. In the winter, we’ll go for a bracing walk across the moor to the golf club before curling up on the massive sofa in The Sett with a glass of wine and warming winter dinner.

Although there are other cottages on the farm, there are lots of different outdoor spaces that people disperse between which makes it feel like you have the whole place to yourself. There’s a peaceful spot right at the back of the farm where you can sit on the bench with a morning coffee soaking in views across the South Hams and down to the coast.

The best bits for a perfect stay

Dartmoor: A walk from the farm to the Moorland Cafe, taking in the golf club and Ugborough Beacon. Lady’s Wood in April/May when it’s full of bluebells and flowering wild garlic.

Beach: Blackpool Sands. Such a beautiful bay.

Dining: The Riverford Field Kitchen. Book well in advance or request a cancellation.

Activity: Making a personalised tipple at The Devon Gin School. So much fun and the session includes a couple of drinks.

Anything else: The beds provide the ultimate sleep experience. We’ve even bought pillows to take home from Marcus and Ryan as we loved them so much.

Don’t just take our word for why The Cottages at Blackadon Farm offer a perfect adult only holiday. Take it from Karen and Andrew!
